Eaglebrook offers six dorms; each of the following is: Mayer, Kravis, Flagler, Eagle’s Nest, Taylor, and Halsted. Each dorm provides a comfortable and welcoming environment for around 30 students, supported by six to eight caring faculty members. These dorms are more than just living spaces; they are communities where everyone feels included and valued, much like being part of a big family.
Living in dorms teaches students important Life Skills and helps build character. One of the ways this is achieved is through responsibility. Students are expected to respect personal and shared property, ensuring the dorm remains a pleasant space for everyone. Daily tasks, such as cleaning the common room or organizing shared spaces, are part of the routine. Beyond these responsibilities, dorm life is filled with opportunities for fun and relaxation. Faculty members often organize dorm parties and special events to add excitement to our schedules. Ice cream socials, movie nights, game competitions, and even themed parties are just some of the events that bring everyone together in the dorm. These moments create strong bonds among students, fostering a sense of brotherhood and making dorm life a truly enjoyable experience.
In addition to the social aspect of dorm life, Eaglebrook places a strong emphasis on personal growth. Our Head of School, Mr. Chase, encourages all students to set S.M.A.R.T. goals at the beginning of the year. S.M.A.R.T. stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timebound. This method of goal setting helps students to focus on areas they want to improve, whether it’s academic performance, better organization, or taking on leadership roles in the dorm. From the daily responsibilities that teach discipline to the events that create lasting memories, every moment in the dorm is a step towards becoming a more responsible, confident, and compassionate person.
