On April 6, 2025, the first round of Stickball games kicked off the annual Stickball tournament hosted by Eaglebrook’s very own Mr. Jiu. The teams for this year are: Le Chino, Muddy Mangos, 37u Stickball, JubJubs, Triple S, Goonies, OwlRock, and Ice Ice Baby. The rules of the stickball matches are that pitches must be SLOW, no arguing with the umpire, no walks, no bunting, no leading or stealing, and runners can be pegged (have the ball thrown at them to get tagged out). Further rules include a maximum of 10 players on the field, with two of them having to be 3rd or 4th formers. If a team has more than 10 players, those players must be substituted in every other inning. If a team is missing players for a game, you will be required to play “man-down”, and there are no random substitutions allowed to play.
Every player in a team must hit the ball once, and the order cannot be changed during the middle of the game. If a team is caught without batting in order or having everyone bat, they will be given one out. The home team will be the team with all of its members present on the field before the game starts. Eaglebrook School rules also apply during the games, and games are to be played on Friday after dinner on the Turf Field. Additionally, games will also happen on Saturday and Sunday during kickout on the Turf Field as well. Good luck to the stickball teams out there!
