On Tuesday, September 9, all Sixth Formers arrived on campus (a day before the underformers) for a leadership training session to learn how to be good role models for the underformers. This is important because the underformers naturally look up to the Sixth Formers, being the oldest, are people they can follow and rely on. This is why leadership training is so crucial to start the year.
As Sixth Formers, we prepared for the New Student Campout, which happens at the beginning of every year. Every dorm has its own campsite on campus. To prepare, we went into the forest to find suitable firewood and search for extra logs for seating.
The next day, the entire Sixth Form class went to Morse Hill for more leadership activities. There was a wide variety of teamwork and activities that required people to communicate with each other to complete various tasks. For example, helping a blindfolded person assemble a potato head, or cracking a code by visiting different platforms. Other activities, such as lowering a hula hoop on one finger, required skills like communication and coordination, all of which are essential for strong teamwork.
These activities helped the Sixth Form ready to start the year as the new leaders and role models for the underformers.
