This year’s Varsity golf team comprises six Sixth Formers and two Fifth Formers. This squad makes for an extremely tight-knit group that pushes each other to be the best they can.
At the start of the season, we had practices in the golf simulator. Four kids would hit balls, and the other four would work out in the gym and practice putting. We focused on the swing path and face angle, making sure everyone was prepared when it was time to go outside. The group would also do 4v4 alternate shot matches, which brought out everyone’s competitive side.
The golf season doesn’t truly feel like it starts until our home course, Crumpin-Fox, opens. The opening was during the Masters’ weekend, and with that, we were in full swing. For the first couple of days, everyone was trying to get used to playing outside again after a long winter. Our first match was a huge confidence builder for the team as everyone won their match against WMA – Wilbraham & Monson Academy. This win was especially big for our new Sixth Former Cameron Chagnon ’25 since WMA was his previous school. After this elite kick-start to the season, the boys were full speed ahead. We went on to win our next three matches with a tough loss against Deerfield. The boys look forward to the biggest event of the year, the III golf tournament. For this tournament, each team selects its top five players to compete. With the elite coaching of Mr. Harrison (“H-Money”) and Mr. Bourdon (“Boss”), the boys are feeling optimistic about bringing home first place.
The Varsity golf team this year consists of: Walker Sventy ’25, Sammy Rivet ’25, Drew Davine ’25, Cameron Chagnon ’25, Bear Sventy ’26, Sangho Sun ’25, Ashton Van Epps ’25, and Ryan Kang ’26
