Every week at Eaglebrook, the Sunday Meeting stands as one of the school’s most meaningful traditions in campus life. More than a gathering, it is a moment when students, faculty, and staff come together to reflect and learn from one another.
Sunday meetings are held weekly in the Chase Learning Center’s Bartlett Assembly Area. Students enter in coat and tie, wearing polished shoes, with a respectful and reflective demeanor. The program features faculty, students, and guests, with talks focusing on ideas such as gratitude, perseverance, kindness, and leadership. Sunday meetings offer students the opportunity to learn important life skills while also reminding them of Eaglebrook’s various traditions and values that shape the community.
On Sunday, September 28, 2025, the Sunday Meeting Committee, composed of Travis Kim ’26, Henry Lee ’26, Daeho Kim ’26, Jonathan Jiang ’26, Paco Zhang ’26, and Mr. Mark Mariani, presented on the various topics that held personal significance for them and as a group. Their discussion explored themes of religion, spiritual connection, and gratitude, encouraging the audience to reflect more deeply on how these ideas influence everyday actions, relationships, and the broader sense of purpose students carry throughout their time on the Hill.
In addition to these lessons, Sunday meetings serve as a platform where students set the tone for the upcoming week, creating a pause amidst the busy school schedule f illed with classes, sports, and activities. Sunday meetings also remind students of the school’s traditions and values, linking the present to Eaglebrook’s rich history. By hearing from different voices, students learn to see the world through new perspectives. This gathering encourages them to slow down, listen, and reflect on what truly matters. In many ways, Sunday meetings are the foundation for character growth on the Hill, giving purpose and balance to the week ahead.
