At Eaglebrook, many students enjoy being part of clubs that spark creativity, allow them to learn new skills, and provide opportunities to work together on exciting projects with their friends and classmates. The Rocketry club is one of these groups, and it is designed for anyone who has an interest in rockets, planes, or any form of aerospace engineering.
The Rocketry Club meets every Saturday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:30. During this time, members gather to design, build, and eventually launch water-powered rockets (maybe even real ones). These launches are always a highlight of the afternoon, with many watching their own rockets soar into the sky, perhaps even flying into the pond or a tree. In the spring, the club will shift its focus towards building more complex projects, such as RC planes, which will provide members with a full hands-on experience in constructing (trial and error), building, and flight mechanics.
The club is open to all students and faculty who share a passion for aerospace engineering or simply want to have fun and learn. No prior experience is required, and the atmosphere that we work to create is welcoming for everyone to join. At the Rocketry club, we emphasize having fun and keeping a light and cheerful atmosphere, while remaining on task.
Beyond launching rockets and having fun, we are also a club that values teamwork, collaboration, and hard work. The sense of excitement and success from launching one’s rocket and seeing it take flight is a combination of all these traits.
If you are interested in aerospace engineering, hands-on projects, or simply want to experience the joy of flight, consider joining our club. Come by on Saturday afternoons in the Innovation Lab and see how high your ideas can soar. If you have any questions or want to sign up, please contact Max Yao, Danny Chu, or Mr. Rob Trimbach-Rios.
