There are some new faces on campus this year. Here is a quick introduction to Eaglebrook’s new faculty.
Tala Adawiya is joining Eaglebrook as a new Fifth and Sixth-Form English teacher. She earned her B.A., BS, and M.A. at the University of Connecticut. She lives in Taylor with her husband, George Morganis, and coaches Cross-Country during the fall. She is originally from Jordan and previously taught at the King’s Academy of Jordan.
Mia Bellafante earned her B.A. in Psychology and Political Science at the University of Notre Dame. She joins the Eaglebrook community as a new Fourth-Form Science teacher. When not teaching, she coaches JV2 Soccer after classes. In her free time, she enjoys reading, exercising, and crocheting. This year, she is residing in Taylor Dormitory.
Bryan Callahan is a proud Golden Eagle of the Eaglebrook Class of 1983. He joined in the spring as the new Director of Communications and Marketing. He has a Ph.D. in African History from Johns Hopkins University. His twin sons, Henry and Roger, are Class of 2028 members.
Evan Cummings joins Eaglebrook as a new Fourth- and Fifth-Form English teacher. Compared to his life in big cities, Evan enjoys the close-knit community of Eaglebrook. When not teaching, Evan coaches Junior Soccer in the fall. He enjoys writing poetry, painting, and spending time with family in his free time. This year, he is living in Halsted.
Conor Hawkins comes to the Eaglebrook community from Farmington, Connecticut. He is teaching Geometry and Algebra I this school year. In his free time, Conor enjoys playing baseball and video games and spending time with family and friends. One thing he has enjoyed about Eaglebrook is how involved everyone is in the community. When not teaching, Conor coaches Football, Competitive Skiing, and Baseball. Conor is residing in Eagles’ Nest this year.
Cormac Hinchey earned his B.S. in biomedical engineering at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. This year, Cormac is teaching Biology. He coaches JV1 Soccer in the fall. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball and spikeball. This year, Cormac is lodging in Flagler as an advisor.
Nick Jodka is joining Eaglebrook as our new Chorus and Ad Libs teacher. In addition to teaching Chorus, Nick is leading our school plays. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, reading fantasy novels, and hiking in the woods. Mr. Jodka graduated from Tufts University with a B.A. in Chorus and Theater. Nick is coaching J.V. Water Polo in the fall and living in Flagler.
Carol Kelly is joining Eaglebrook as the Associate Director of Communications and Marketing. She enjoys talking to students and explaining Eaglebrook’s mission. Carol manages social media platforms, including the Eaglebrook Instagram account. She resides in Deerfield.
Sean MacPhee earned his B.S. in Mathematics at Babson College. He is joining Eaglebrook this year to teach Algebra I. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, jogging, biking, and the outdoors. Sean coaches Junior Soccer, will be coaching Hockey in the winter, and lives in Halstead.
George Morganis is joining the community as a new History teacher. George earned his B.A. and M.A. at Providence College and MAT in History at Brown University. Before teaching, he moved to Athens, Greece, where he participated in Athenian excavations at the American School of Classical Studies in Athens. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking and reading books. He resides with his wife, Tala Adawiya, in Taylor.
Kelvin Sanchez joined Eaglebrook in the spring of the 2023-2024 school year as a Third Form English and Science teacher. They now work in the Main Office as a registrar. Mx. Sanchez enjoys playing bass, creative writing, biking, skateboarding, and watching movies. They currently reside in Taylor.
Karinne Syers came to Eaglebrook in the spring of last year as an interim English Teacher. She now works as a Third-Form Science and English teacher. In her free time, She creates video games, writes plays, and makes short films. She has taught locally at Amherst College, Bard Microcollege, Mount Holyoke and the Hartsbrook School.
Seven Terry comes to Eaglebrook as our new Athletics Equipment Manager. Seven earned his B.A. at Springfield College. In his free time, he plays video games, works out, and watches movies. Seven enjoys the Eaglebrook environment and meeting new people. Seven is living in Flagler and coaching Football in the fall.
Haley Tyree is a new Learning Support Teacher for Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth-Form students and our SSAT Test-Taking Manager. She earned her B.S. at the University of Massachusetts. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her children and family. She is associated with Flagler.
Christina Choi is joining Eaglebrook as our new Piano teacher. She has over 32 years of experience playing the piano. She loves listening to and playing classical music, and she also enjoys spending time with her family. Christina resides in Amherst.
