Big Brother has been a tradition at Eaglebrook School for many years. This tradition is where a Sixth Former would receive a new underformer as their “little brother.” They would then partake in a role as a mentor or guide to help them through their first year in EBS. In past years during New Student Cookouts, big brothers are introduced to their little brothers. I will always remember when I met my first big brother Lucien K. ’22.
However, a slight change has been made this year, as little brothers are introduced on the first Saturday on campus. Sixth Formers get to build connections with many underformers before they finally choose their little brothers. It was in Eagles Nest dorm where I found my second big brother, Aidan L. ’24. As an older brother to the best little brother Sangwong L. ’27, I get to experience being a mentor. I often give him advice for being away from home, as I have been here for four years.
Overall, the big brother tradition has really helped me out, providing assistance by both receiving help as a new underformer and now finally as a true big brother.
