Student Council is an elected group of students that represents the student body. The group consists of TK L. ’25, Teddy C. ’25, Drew D. ’25, Jackson S. ’25, Chase E. ’25, James L. ’25, and Jacob S. ’25.
The Student Council works alongside Ms. Blain, discussing the needs and suggestions of the student body to improve their school life. The group was elected last year through an election process with around 70 candidates, with eight of the most-voted candidates taking on the role of the student council.
Furthermore, the top three members with the most votes are assigned President, Vice President, and Secretary-Treasurer. This year, Teddy C. is the president, TK L. is the vice president, and Jackson S. is the secretary-treasurer.
Teddy C. will be having his Sixth Form Assembly during Country Fair, TK L’s at Winter Carnival, and Jackson S. already gave the first Sixth Form Assembly of the year. The group usually meets twice a week, while discussing topics like Spirit Week, and what we all, as a community, can do to show our pride for Eaglebrook.
The student council also works with other committees, such as the Sustainability Committee or the Hearth Committee to write articles or bring up suggestions for different committees in our meetings.
The Student Council is always open to suggestions given by the student body, and the Council considers each and every one carefully. If a majority of the students concur that there is an issue, the issue will be resolved very quickly. One of the suggestions that resurfaces each year is the creation of a dress-down day. Many students request this every year and the council is currently working on a dress-down Friday. Spirit Week is usually on the week of Halloween, and students dress according to the themes presented by the student council.
The student council works as a group to make the school community a safer and better place. The council is always open to suggestions and you can always contact us via email.
