Eaglebrook has been undergoing significant development in recent times, with three separate construction projects being worked on. The project manager for Eaglebrook’s new installments, Wes Smith, has been supervising the process that will keep our school the place of learning that it is. For the prospective students of Eaglebrook, this is exciting news.
The much anticipated new dining hall is still well underway of being completed, with the progress being made clearly visible. On the night of September 26, 2024, the dorms experienced a loss of electricity after lights-out, due to a process required for the use of electricity in the new dining hall. This monumental new addition to the already-beautiful Eaglebrook campus will bring a breath of fresh air, with it being a zero-net-energy facility. Using 21 geothermal wells to both cool and warm the dining hall, this new source of energy will allow the new building to be part of the sustainable solution.
Another new addition to the Eaglebrook campus will be at the Lewis Track & Field, where many improvements are being made. Some of these upgrades include the terraces being built into the hillside that adjoins the field, a staircase that will allow athletes a more convenient passage to the field, and a better drainage system for the Cross Country running trail. The new terraces will be able to act as bleachers for parents and spectators, with new field lighting accommodating for games going late into the evening.
The final addition will be at Varsity Field, where Eaglebrook’s stormwater drainage and infiltration system will be extended. During last summer, Eaglebrook’s campus as well as Pine Nook Road were flooded by the rain caused by a severe thunderstorm. This event raised alarm for the need for an even longer network of drainage pipes, as well as preparation for erosion by placing more gravel.
