Ms. Wendy Van Epps is a member of the Eaglebrook Board of Directors and the mother of Aiden ’21, Aaron ’23, and Ashton Van Epps ’25. She was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts, and after college, she lived in Boston for over 10 years before returning to Western Massachusetts to raise her family. Afterwards, she moved back to Northampton.
Ms. Van Epps learned about Eaglebrook through her younger brother, who attended Eaglebrook in the 80s while she went to Bement. She recalls having fond memories of hosting boarders from Eaglebrook at her house on weekends.
She enrolled her sons in Eaglebrook in September 2020 because Eaglebrook had in-person classes, even during the pandemic. Ms. Van Epps especially loves being on campus for athletic and family events. She also frequently volunteers to help the school in any way she can.
In particular, she and her husband, using their experience owning the Crumpin’ Fox Golf Club, helped develop the Eaglebrook Golf program alongside Mr. Chase and Mr. Bourdon.
Last year, Mr. Chase and Ms. Blain asked Ms. Van Epps to join the Eaglebrook Board of Directors, which she considered a huge honor. This year, Mr. Chase called her to ask her to be the 2025 Baccalaureate speaker.
Ms. Van Epps was chosen because she is a vocal advocate for Eaglebrook, constantly supporting the school in any way she can. Her enthusiasm and dedication to the school have positively impacted Eaglebrook.
At the time this article was written, Mrs. Van Epps had a solid draft of her speech written. She hinted that she will write about the advice she received as a teenager that has stuck with her throughout her life. She hopes to share the guiding principle that helped her become the best version of herself daily.
