The Eaglebrook Food Committee provides an opportunity for Sixth Form students to provide feedback regarding meals and food at Eaglebrook. The Food Committee also encourages students to express their gratitude to the hardworking kitchen staff who cook food and clean dishes for the entire school every day. The Food Committee also helps run Snack Pack, a system for students to get tasty snacks every Monday and Friday. They meet every Sunday in the Boardroom to discuss food, suggest new meals, and give appreciation to kitchen staff members. The Food Committee introduced many exciting foods to the Dining Hall this year, such as avocado toast, glazed donuts for breakfast, and many new toppings on the Friday night pizza, such as peppers, tomatoes, and pesto sauce.
This winter, the Food Committee sends out weekly inquiry forms to the student body for feedback. Asking students to rate the meals and Snack-Pack that week, and to show appreciation to the kitchen staff members. This effort allowed students, especially Underformers, an opportunity to speak up and send thanks to Eaglebrook’s kitchen staff.
This year, the Food Committee was highly successful and productive, providing students with new meals, organizing Snack Pack, sending out forms, and expressing gratitude to the kitchen staff. The Food Committee is an excellent way for Sixth Form students to give back to their community by improving the Eaglebrook dining experience. As the writer Virginia Woolf said, “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well if one has not dined well.”
