The Music Club at Eaglebrook is filled with talented students passionate about music. Strings, brass, piano, percussion — even the ukulele and harmonica — they all have a place in the club. This lineup of instruments has the unique ability to form a flexible ensemble, ensuring that rehearsals are interesting, as no two group members approach music from the same perspective.
This club is distinct from other clubs because it’s all student-run. Instead of the music pieces being chosen by a faculty member, it’s entirely suggested by members, who love these pieces that are selected by a group at large. This level of production makes each concert highly personal to its members. At the end of each trimester, the club presents a performance. Everyone in the Eaglebrook community is invited to attend and hear for themselves what these young musicians have been working on all term.
The members assemble once a week for rehearsals and logistical planning. These meetings are filled with lively music, conversation, and laughter. Members face challenges together, test alternative styles until the notes fall into place.
The Music Club has emerged, above all, as a place to connect. Its members say that it’s a community for musicians to grow and make friends, a place to share notes on their learnings. It is, they say, about music, camaraderie, vocal teamwork, and a sense of belonging.
