Thirds Baseball is the most beginner-friendly of all the baseball teams. Here in Thirds, we mainly focus on learning the game and having fun instead of rigorous training. Many of our players are either new to the game or inexperienced, so Thirds is the best way to start playing the sport.
Thirds baseball has had 2 games this season so far, beating Cardigan 13 to 11 but losing to Rectory 3 to 5. Despite the loss, we still had a lot of fun and had a great learning experience, familiarizing us with the basics of baseball.
So far this season, we have worked on various parts of the game, such as doing drills like infield and outfield, working on our fielding and game sense, and interteam scrimmages, focusing on fielding, batting, leading, and stealing.
Our practices always start with throwing warmups, loosening out our elbows and arms. After this, we start with our dynamic and static stretches. Then we officially start our practice. Most of the time, that includes fielding drills or scrimmages so our pitchers and catchers can practice, and so we can also practice batting against live pitches.
Ultimately, our baseball season has been great so far, and we look forward to further improving our skills and game sense, as well as just having fun.
