The JV baseball team puts great emphasis on growth. In every practice and game, we focus on improving our skills, learning from our mistakes, and pushing each other to be better.
Though winning games is still our goal, we put greater value on effort, progress, and resilience. By supporting others and staying dedicated, we continue to grow both as players and as a team.
Most practices start with a dynamic warm-up, followed by a throwing session. Following this, we move into infield and outfield drills to get the bodies loose. This routine helps players start practice with a set routine. After warm-up drills, coaches carefully consider which drills to work on, such as baserunning and hitting. The team’s motto is to hustle on everything. Coaches don’t want lazy players, but ones that are determined to achieve their goals. We try to grow and learn as much as we can throughout the season.
JV Baseball had grown a lot from the experiences of the matches we had faced. The team has 14 games total this season. We had a tie score against Frontier Regional, 10-10. Then we played Pioneer and Frontier Regional, and we lost. We had an exciting win against Cardigan, 14-2. The games we have faced so far have led us to grow more and help us stack more experience for our next battle against Athol, Greenfield, Smith, Hopkins, Mohawk, and Mahar. These games gave us much more information, and the team learned from its mistakes and grew from the opportunities.
