On the 21st of March, the annual Dodgeball Tournament was held at Eaglebrook. Astonishingly, the dodgeball competition is one of the newest events that commenced in 2025. Around 270 people participated in this event, which allowed the whole school to build strong bonds and develop athletics during their years at Eaglebrook. Students gather at the hockey rink, which operates during the winter trimester. Even though it is only the second year that the Dodgeball Tournament has been held, it is one of the major events happening at Eaglebrook.
Just before the game started, students and faculty energetically set the mood and atmosphere with speeches. For example, Halsted dormitory advisor Mr. Jiu, who also teaches history at Eaglebrook, gave a speech to boost Halsted students’ morale. He talked about how Halsted has been strong throughout the year, and he expects a good score from the Halsted team. After the speech, real fun began.
Each dorm competed in the hockey rink to be the winner of the dodgeball tournament. There were 6 teams: Mayer, Halsted, Taylor, Eagle’s Nest, Kravis, and Flagler. On the left field, Halsted, Mayer, and Taylor played against themselves. On the other side, Eagle’s Nest, Kravis, and Flagler played their games. Many teachers attended the event and served as referees for the game. In the end, Mayer won the tournament. Although they lost in the first game against Halsted, they made a great comeback from the loser’s group. Along with Halsted, Eagles Nest was ranked last. Despite Kravis’s strong performance, they lost to Mayer in the championship game. Everyone had fun at the event.
