The Eaglebrook JV golf team has kicked off their fall season and is starting great! After 25 or more student-athletes attended the initial tryout, a team of 10 golfers was selected. This year’s golfers include Julien B. ‘25, Zach D. ‘25, Reese E. ‘26, Camdyn F. ‘26, Mateo G. ‘25, Reid H. ‘26, Briggs L. ‘26, Jackson S. ‘25, and Matthew Y. ‘25, who are led by head coach Anthony Bourdon and assistant coaches Spencer Bell and Alexander Bogel. With four returning players, the team works to build confidence and develop a strong, cohesive group.
After tryouts, the team spent their first week using the golf simulator to work on fundamentals and hone their craft. The players played virtual courses in teams of two, put on the designated mats, and chipped outside. After several days indoors, they could get outdoors on the home course, Crumpin-Fox Golf Club. Now that athletics is in full swing, the team has a set schedule for traveling to the course on Mondays and Wednesdays, where golfers are split into groups of three, with one coach in each group. On the remaining days, time is spent on campus using the golf simulator to practice our swings to become more consistent.
The first match of the season was on October 3 against Franklin County Technical School, followed by another game on October 4 against Valley View School on away courses. These are two-thirds of the matches currently on the schedule, not including the Country Fair Cup that will be played during Country Fair weekend.
Many of our golfers have already seen improvements in their game by having daily access to our spectacular facilities. These facilities will help us be well-prepared for the long season ahead. With this fantastic group of golfers, we hope to have fun, face great competition, and win matches.
