The Student Council is an elected group of Sixth Form students who are chosen to represent the student body. This year’s council consists of Marcus Fraser ’26, Frank Zhang ’26, Ryan Kang ’26, Liam Kim ’26, Reid Harrison ’26, James Purcell ’26, Henry Lee ’26, Sebastian Chen ’26, Paco Zhang ’26, Derek Kelly ’26, Jay Cho ’26, and Jack Shaw ’26.
The Student Council works with Ms. Blain to provide the Eaglebrook students with a voice in decisions and to bring their ideas to life. One of the things the Council is striving to do this year is to create a “pop-up store” on campus, allowing students to purchase Eaglebrook merchandise. These stores will be set up during campus events and will sell a variety of items, which were voted on by the entire school in a survey that was sent out. The winning merchandise was Eaglebrook quarter zips, hoodies, sweatpants, and T-shirts. Our goal in creating this pop-up store is to provide students with Eaglebrook clothing so everyone can properly represent Eaglebrook and wear school pride around the world.
The Student Council meets every Tuesday after school and may also hold spontaneous meetings throughout the week. We also collaborate with other committees and clubs by designating a representative from each committee and holding joint meetings.
The Student Council is always open to any ideas pitched by fellow students, and each idea is carefully considered. Furthermore, our goal is to do our best to fight for the opinion of each student and to make Eaglebrook a better experience for everyone. However, students must understand that some issues are beyond our authority, and we have no power to change them. Some of these are lights-out times, school schedules, and most notoriously the tech policy. We hope students understand that while we are trying our best, not every idea and suggestion will be brought to life, and we work very hard to do the best we can.
