Every year on the Hill brings new people, and this year we are lucky to welcome nine new amazing faculty members, all with unique and inspiring backgrounds. Reading this article can be a great way to familiarize yourself with these faculty, and if you already know them, perhaps learn something new.
Mr. Minickiello is a math teacher who teaches Algebra 1 and Geometry at Eaglebrook. His education began at Phillips Andover before he decided to study Government, Politics, and Philosophy at Colby College. In his free time, he enjoys training for and competing in Triathlons. It is worth noting that his favorite food is a classic PB&J. Anthony certainly brings a bright and genuine personality to the great community of Eaglebrook.
Mr. Lee is an advisor in Flagler House who enjoys fishing in his free time. He has a dog and a cat as well as a son, Aerich, who is currently a Fourth Former at Eaglebrook. Originally from Chicago, Mr. Lee went to Harvard. This year, he will coach football and basketball. One thing Mr. Lee looks forward to this year is seeing the new Snowmaking Machines in action.
Mr. Armstrong is an Earth Science teacher from Belmont, Massachusetts. Mr. Armstrong attended Williams College and then earned a degree in Earth and Environmental Science from Boston College. Some things you may find Mr. Armstrong up to during his free time are swimming, biking, running, hiking, reading, and spending time with his family. This year, Mr. Armstrong will be coaching Cross Country, Hockey, and Lacrosse. Eaglebrook sparked his interest due to the enthusiastic community, paired with the opportunity to teach and learn within the natural environment.
Mr. Pieroni attended Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis and played baseball and soccer when not studying. Over the course of the year, he will coach JV Soccer, Basketball, and Varsity baseball. Mr. Pieroni enjoys watching/ playing sports and reading when he has the opportunity. The things that stand out to him about Eaglebrook are the students, the welcoming atmosphere, and the vast campus.
Mrs. Pieroni was a student at both St. Louis University and the University of Pennsylvania. This year, she will be teaching Biology and SSAT prep, but she also has past experience in teaching Math and Art. Activities such as reading and being in nature bring joy to Mrs. Pieroni. Since joining the community, Mrs. Pieroni has really enjoyed getting to know the students and their humorous personalities.
Mr. Joseph is a wonderful Algebra teacher and holds his own class called Next Gen Coders, where students learn about coding and the skills that come with it. Mr. Joseph loves reading and can even do so in a room of over 100 people! He is planning to get a kitten, Sage, later this fall. When he was a student, he attended the University of Hartford, as well as the University of Connecticut.
Mr. McDevitt joins Eaglebrook as a new athletic trainer. Coming from Westchester, Pennsylvania, he attended Bayard Rustin High School and Springfield College. When he is not occupied, you can find him watching sports, playing cornhole, or chilling in his recliner. His favorite food is Penne.
Mr. Olmsted grew up not too far from Eaglebrook in Amherst, Massachusetts. During his academic career, he attended Amherst Regional High School, followed by attending Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. This fall, he will be coaching Juniors soccer and looking to develop his players. Mr. Olmsted stays busy, watching sports, reading, playing golf, working out, and spending time with his friends. Some of his favorites in the sports realm include Chelsea FC and the Boston Celtics, and in terms of food, he enjoys sushi, and a staple dessert of his is pumpkin pie.
Ms. Looman is joining the Eaglebrook community as the Curriculum Database manager from Shelburne, Massachusetts. She attended St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY, to study Geology, which allowed her to explore upstate New York and even the Canary Islands in Spain. During the fall, she is a member of the Mountain Biking coaching staff and will join the rec ski team during the winter. Ms. Looman lives and advises in Halsted with Mr. McClure. Some hobbies she enjoys include biking, skiing, and learning new crafts whenever she finds the time. Eaglebrook was a place that drew her attention due to the enthusiasm the students bring every day, as well as the traditions that Eaglebrook holds true.
