The Varsity golf team is heading into the 2026 season with a new roster consisting of Jack Avila ’28, Eric Berube ’26, Reese Ewell ’26, Ryan Kang ’26, Cam Foster ’26, Eli Myers ’26, James Purcell ’26, Eduardo Trevino ’26, and Andrew Xu ’27.
Made up of a diverse and motivated group of student-athletes, this year’s squad brings both energy and focus to every practice and match. The team’s positive atmosphere is often sparked by the enthusiasm of fellow Sixth Formers and Underformers, creating a competitive yet supportive environment that sets the tone for the season.
While the team’s chemistry off the course is outstanding, our mindset on the course is just as sharp. Practices are fueled by competition, encouragement, and a shared commitment to improvement. We divide our time between competitive team ranking matches on the course and focused work on swing mechanics and short game on the range. Every round presents an opportunity to earn a spot in the next match, and every range session is a chance to strengthen our fundamentals and build confidence for upcoming competition.
The team currently holds a 4-2 record, a strong start that reflects the dedication and effort put in since the beginning of the season. Each match has brought different challenges, pushing us to adapt, stay resilient, and compete at a higher level with every new opponent. With five matches remaining against Choate, Deerfield, Suffield, Avon, and Westminster, the team is focused on finishing the regular season strong.
So far, the schedule has included both long road trips to unfamiliar courses and home matches at Crumpin-Fox. Traveling together and spending countless hours as a team has helped us form a close bond and memories that extend beyond golf. Whether it’s sharing music on bus rides, Reese going to Starbucks, Cam hitting a house, or Eduardo’s extended repertoire of sound effects.
This team has developed a unique balance of a supportive and fun environment combined with a competitive drive to improve every day. With strong chemistry, committed leadership, and a determination to keep getting better, the 2026 Varsity golf season is shaping up to be one to remember.
