Clubs are truly a unique aspect of Eaglebrook. Whether it has been around for years or was founded this year, students never fail to create an entertaining and welcoming space for peers with similar interests. Clubs are open to all grades, giving students opportunities to connect with peers outside their grade and classes.
From the newly founded Gratitude Club to the Music Club, established years ago, Eaglebrook offers a wide variety of student-led clubs that foster creativity, leadership, and a sense of community. A couple of new clubs introduced to Eaglebrook this year are the Gratitude Club, created by Derek Kang ’27 and Ryan Hur ’27, the Harkness Club, founded by Logan Oh ’27 and Peter Brown ’27, and the Bowling Club started by Anderson Aihie ’27. Although all of these clubs are sponsored by faculty and supervised during meetings, each club’s leaders schedule meetings and activities.
Apart from clubs, committees are mostly faculty-led, but consist of Sixth Form leaders who work as a team to nurture the Eaglebrook community and others. The Community Outreach Committee, for example, strives to support groups outside of Eaglebrook. This year, the Outreach Committee plans to collaborate with the Gratitude Club to support groups within Eaglebrook, such as the maintenance crew. Beyond the Outreach, other committees emphasize the regular life at Eaglebrook. For instance, the Sustainability, Wellness, and Food Committees are all pillars of campus life.
Whether focusing on Eaglebrook or in the broader world, these committees ensure that leadership in Eaglebrook is never siloed. Since Committees are usually for Sixth Form students, they require Sixth Form students to be proactive. From keeping each dorm updated on sustainability challenges to alerting underformers to article deadlines in the Outlook, they display leadership to soon-to-be Sixth Form students.
