Pickleball is a racket sport that students enjoy a lot at Eaglebrook. It consists of 2 or 4 players who use solid rackets to hit a plastic ball over the net and try to score points. In Pickleball, players can only score points when it’s their serve. The goal is to win by scoring 11 points before the opponent does.
In practice, when students first arrive, they are usually allowed free play, where they can rally or play games against whoever they like. Warm-ups begin around 10 minutes after training starts, which consist of 2 laps around the tennis courts and a group stretch led by the coaches. Most of the time, players split into groups and do drills or play games based on skill level. For the last 15 to 20 minutes, free play is again an option, and students often challenge coaches to double matches. This year, the team is excited and looks forward to the first competitive game against Valley View School.

The coaches for this year are Ms. Morsman, Mr. Mandell ’00, Ms. Adawiya, Mr. Morganis, and Mr. Lamb. There are 33 players on the team this year, ranging from Third to Sixth Form.
