For many years, whenever someone goes to the Main Office, the first person they see is Ms. Fitz. Ms. Fitz has been working at Eaglebrook for 21 years since 2005. She was born and raised in Turners Falls and now lives near the school campus.
Before coming to Eaglebrook, Ms. Fitz worked in a Harley-Davidson motorcycle shop. The first job Ms. Fitz was in charge of at Eaglebrook was the switchboard operator. She handled all phone calls to the school, a task that could be overwhelming at times. Later, Ms. Fitz worked in the placement office, now the SSA office, with Mr. Karl Koenigbauer. Besides helping students with secondary schools, she also helped coordinate the admissions for Eaglebrook Summer Semester. Following Mr. Koenigbauer’s retirement, Ms. Fitz moved back to the main office, where she now helps organize the library with Mrs. Meier during the summer. Ms. Fitz continued to work with Mr. Rose during the Summer Semester.
Looking back at her years in Eaglebrook, Ms. Fitz says she will miss the people the most, as they are a huge family on the campus. One detail Ms. Fitz shared was how she watched so many faculty children grow up, from birth to graduation. Also, Ms. Fitz will remember the beautiful campus. Many changes took place over the years, including the demolition of the Bryant and science buildings to build the Evans Center. The Learning Center also underwent renovations in the past decade. Through these changes, though, nature remains, and it plays a huge role in shaping the campus and the school’s spirit.
As Ms. Fitz retires this year, she is excited to spend all the time she wants doing what she likes and relaxing. Ms. Fitz has been a part of the Eaglebrook community for a very long time, and we are thankful for her valuable contributions.
