Eaglebrook School is delighted to welcome Ms. Kim, our new piano teacher. She is originally from South Korea; she moved to Austin, Texas, in 2011 to study abroad and made the city her home until she joined Eaglebrook School. Before joining us, she was part of Little Tiger Chinese Immersion School and St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Austin.

Ms. Kim’s first impression of Eaglebrook was the beauty of the campus. She loved how the glass walls in each building allowed students to appreciate nature while studying. She admitted that she was a little nervous about joining and teaching in an all-boys school; as a mother of two sons, she knew how energetic boys can be. However, as soon as she met our students in person, she discovered how wonderful and welcoming they were.
Throughout her lessons, she prioritizes building confidence and joy through personal growth above all else. Because learning an instrument requires repeated practice and patience, she works to create an encouraging environment where students can feel safe and comfortable making mistakes, discover their own musical voice and each one’s strengths, and experience the pride of performing the music.
This year, her main goal is to adjust and get to know Eaglebrook and its great community. Her message to the students was surprisingly heartfelt. She believes every student here is special and encourages each to appreciate the wonderful opportunities that Eaglebrook provides, cherish every moment, and make lifelong memories with their friends.
Welcome to Eaglebrook, Ms. Kim!
