From teaching high school English at Saint Paul’s to teaching middle school English at Eaglebrook, Mr. Ellinwood has maintained a strong passion for English. He loves reading his extensive collection of books in his free time and also writes poetry. Some of his works are similar to Shakespeare’s, and he always strives to be better. Although he might be the next Edgar Allen Poe, he is also a great soccer player. He has an elite skill set and could dribble past almost anyone on the soccer field. His shots are immaculate and precise, serving as an example in shooting drills. Mr. Ellinwood coaches Thirds soccer, passing his knowledge down to the students who look up to him as an amazing role model.

Mr. Ellinwood hopes that if his students only learn one thing in his class, it would be how to become adults and to try their best every day. Each morning, Mr. Ellinwood sets the same goal: to feel tired at the end of the day, knowing that you have given your all. This is one thing I think everyone should live by: when you collapse on your bed from fatigue, you know you tried your hardest, no matter the result. Mr. Ellinwood embodies hard work and resilience, as shown by his dedication to teaching his students to the best of his ability.
Mr. Ellinwood chooses to teach at Eaglebrook because he believes middle schoolers are at a stage where their minds and bodies can adapt quickly to their surroundings. He wants to show his students that they must try their hardest every day to succeed and talk to others with respect to get what they want. He mentions that everyone at Eaglebrook was very welcoming, and he looks forward to the year ahead.
